About Me

I am a mom, wife, religious school teacher,  reluctant and mediocre housekeeper. I write for parenting magazines. I have a radio show on 90.1 KPFT called Bayou Brew.  I have a store for Jewish teachers on Teachers Pay Teachers. And I just finished creating a book of Jewish Holiday puzzles and activities great for kids ages 7-12. Also I am starting to get together a digital scrapbooking store on Creative Fabrica but there's not so much there yet.

I have a Master's Degree in teaching reading, am certified in Texas to teach Preschool through 8th grade (or up to about 15 years old for those visiting from afar). I have a Business Degree and a Spanish Degree, none of which I really use much. Although all in all it was probably worth at least getting the Spanish degree.

I also took seven years of French but I don't remember any of it unless I happen to be in a heated argument with my husband and he happens to address me in French, at which point it just pops out of my mouth as if it had been there all along. Not that that's ever happened.

Also, I reserve the right to be wrong about everything.

Here is me and The-Guy-Who-Knows-A-Song-About-A-Chicken, also known as my husband. Also known as the best husband on earth. I happen to have it on pretty good authority that there are a couple people who think THEY have the best husband on earth, but unfortunately they're wrong.

Obviously.

In addition to a 27 year old stepdaughter (who got her own place last spring) and 20 year old (in college far away), an18 year old (lives here, but you'd barely know it unless it happens to be dinner time), and a toddler (lives here and you better not forget it!), we also provide a luxurious home for one spoiled cat who thinks he is a human and one scaredy cat, otherwise known as "that cat you never talk about".

Update (January 2020) the 27 year old is now a 32 year old teacher. The 20 year old is now 24 year old graphic designer. The 18 year old is 22 already and just graduated from college. I hope that math works out ok. Also, both cats have unfortunately croaked. But weren't they the greatest?

Update to the update - we got a new cat. She's Jewish:
